Keep Them Wonder-ing!

Keep Them Wonder-ing!

Wonder and Awe are words that have been used synonymously with reverence.  In my relationship with God there are incredible things to discover and experiences to live.  The results of where God has led me is I share my faith, especially the awe-full parts.

Each moment closely connected with God has sparked wonder in my life.  Encounters with God may have a similar effect in the lives of others too.  God uses our experiences to reach out to others, touching many and blessing many.  A friend once told me that God is not so concerned about using our abilities or inabilities (or disabilities); God is more interested in our availability (and dependability and reliability).

The availability and dependability and reliability is by our choice.  With our “Yes Lord,” we open a doorway for wonder-ing,  I have been a Catechist with different age children for several years.  God continues to show me that I am not a teacher, but a Catechist, one who shares their faith.

What the students learn is up to them, based on their openness to learn.  I too learn about God through the student’s sharings and questions.  In that way the wonder-ing keeps going in my life also.

Wonder-ing is for anyone who wants to keep growing in their faith,  We can’t imagine all that God has and wants to share with us.  We can only take a little bit at a time.  But even that small amount of God’s love has left me awe-struck many times.  It is this kind of sharing from God that keeps me hungry and thirsty for more of a relationship.

Some time ago I heard a quote, “A faith worth having is a faith worth sharing.”  I can’t expect to have a worthwhile relationship with Jesus unless I am also willing to act so others can meet Jesus also.  Those “others” may be ones close to us or even people we haven’t met yet.

So keep the wonder-ing in your life.  It will naturally overflow and others will see the awesome reflection of God through you.  When we are wondel-full it is a wonderful occurrence for God’s kingdom.

Carry and Spill – the Light

Carry and Spill – the Light

There are opportunities to be introduced to and absorb light.  We can carry as well as spill our light onto others.  Ways we shine make immense outreach and result in so much influence.

The idea of “spill the light” is one that I got from Terry Hershey’s Sabbath Moment reflection.  It has become a key feature to my growth.  It is a good practice that affects others in phenomenal methods.

What’s offered to us builds a foundation creating the person we’ve become. Sharing the benefits increases our community’s brightness, and enhancing the environment we inhabit.

We are TOTE-ally blessed and the “SPILL” overflows and influences all who are in contact along our path.  The LIGHT beams into us and also through us.  This shines into our being that others may benefit too.

Recently I heard that Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers included at a graduation speech his favorite Latin quote, “Nunc Coepi”, which means “Now I Begin”.  We have many opportunities; decide and “Now I Begin.”

I Have Never Been Lost

I Have Never Been Lost

“I have never been lost,” Daniel Boone once said about exploring remote areas. “But I will admit to being confused for several weeks.”  The place where we are can give us amazing perspectives, as long as we’re open to possibilities.

The feedback received can have immense input into our lives and we can gain so much from our environment.  Places we are may be blessings if only we let such occurrences happen.

After a trip a friend told me he was going to stop vacationing.  He would still travel, but he’d look for somethings spiritual and they’d become pilgrimages.

That changed my viewpoint on my own travels into phenomenal pilgrimages.  It now adds somethings spiritual into various places I visit, and becomes incredible journeys.

John Muir described people’s walks to discover Sainte Tierres experiences that was talked about eventually as sauntering.  So he said our forests are holy grounds and we should not hike but saunter through them.  The discoveries we make can enhance our’s and other’s lives.

In The VERSE-d Way

In The VERSE-d Way

The perspective of poetry can have an incredible effect on us with such impact.  The rhyme and rhythm may be meaningful in ways we had not realized could happen.

Poetic creativity may stretch our imagination to amazing lengths and give us insights what we knew could happen.  Such di-VERSE-ity might take us to places beyond possibilities, into unheard of dimensions.

Re-VERSE is re-living words again and again that feed our spirit and intellect and emotions.  The in-VERSE outreach blesses us and others in phenomenal ways that can spark terrific ideas.

The author’s rhyming can be so varied and is open to imaginations that reach multitudes of audiences.  Fitting together they can be developing pictures that expand horizons.

Ways that wording is pieced together builds foundations on which so much is based.  The VERSE-d situations can result in the best outcomes, if only we’re open to such ways.

To Say – Touché!

 To Say – Touché!

The Wise speak because they have something to say, fools speak because they have to say something.  Could we be uttering wisdom or spouting off foolishness.

Are our words a blessing to others or a curse bestowed on another person?  Our tongue, though not sharp, can inflict great harm on someone.  Be careful in using words, as they can pierce and victimize people, even if it is not intended to do so.

On a show I saw a plaque with an open-mouthed fish and below was written “If I’d kept my mouth shut I wouldn’t be here.”  In most times we do not understand or appreciate what we’re going through while we go through it.  Only in reflection or discussion do we gain understanding and get some appreciation of occurrences.

Inspiration comes to us in many forms like ideas or words or pictures, etc., but we can absorb what’s offered and that can benefit us and others.  The results achieved may impact our lives greatly while also being just the change another needs.

Expression can have immense outreach while affecting those that are brought to our path.  We might incredibly influence someone with our words and actions, but even just being there in silence can be effective.  Presence can have amazing results, and maybe what that person needs.

Connectedness – From Thinking Onward

Connectedness – From Thinking Onward

Our Thoughts lead to our Words.

          Our Words become our Actions.

          Our Actions develop our Behavior.

          Our Behavior forms our Habits.

          Our Habits shape our Character.

Our Character connects to our Destiny.

The connectedness from our thinking to many other areas of our lives results in so much.  Things we do and say affects the ones that we interact with on an ongoing basis.

We are not on this journey alone, so we may rely on each other as the Support Group needed to boost us up and be strength for one another.  The ways we interact with a person can be a blessing and enhance both of our lives.

If we see joint effects that bond us together, we can form community connections that give us a bigger picture.  When we’re closely walking with others, our perspective is different and we have a wider viewpoint.

The person that we are is greater because of people we associate with and hang around.  We absorb so much in our environment an we are changed for the better.  Our character and destiny are inherently improved.
