Embracing The Child Within

Embracing The Child Within

As a child we need to be held close and embraced to build a sense of security as we grow.  Such hugging teach lessons that bond us with family values.

As we learn we also imitate those within our reach, sensing so much we’re taking in.  Our appearance speaks volumes about who we are plus how we live in becoming the best version of ourselves.

May we absorb the material fed to us and soak in what’s presented to our senses.  When I got involved with the Liturgy of The Word for Children ministry at Church, I was preparing for one Sunday.  I remembered a cola commercial, Tab Cola, where someone stood backward at the edge of a pool, drank the Tab, and fell backward into the pool.

I imagined myself falling backward into the Word of God, and it was a refreshing experience.  Preparing that lesson was amazing, and enlivening to the point of opening up my own eyes to great things.

What I’ve learned over the years is background information adds to the richness of a story.  When we sense more details, then there is much that is brought to life in the explanation.  Let the over-flowing happen.
