Be Joyful
On Purpose
On waking for a new day there is a sense of purpose to get
things done and accomplish tasks. We can
also choose to be joyful or not, and make a decision about being satisfied in
our circumstances.
There was a walk for peace, and a Spiritual Leader said, “We
walk not to protest, but to awaken the peace that already lives within each of
us,”
“Because here’s the deal: We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we
make peace with ourselves.” And as
another participant reminded us, “Do not let the behavior of others destroy
your inner peace.”
Someone has said, “I, not events, have the power to make me
happy today, I can choose which it shall
be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t
arrived yet. I have just one day, today,
and I’m going to be happy in it.”
Today is the gift given to us, that’s why it is called the
“present.” But we must receive it,
unwrap it and put it to good use so that we can benefit from it as well as
share it with others.
